It takes two, it takes two, me and you!

Today marks the one year anniversary of this little blog. I can't believe I stuck with it for a whole year. Or that anyone besides my mom reads it.

I started this spot as a place to record my recipes in hopes of making meal planning easier and more organized. It has certainly done that for me. I don't always have time to get my recipes posted. I have so many photos in my picture file waiting to be matched up with their recipe. But I have never wanted this to be a burden and so they will come as time allows. I'm ok with that.

It has also been a place to document pictures and stories of my kids. I'm not a scrapbooky type of person. I tried. Evan has about 6 pages completed and stuff cut out for another 4. Poor Addie has nothing. And I have nothing professional at all of Isaiah. Not even cheap Wal-Mart photos. Sorry kids. Sorry Grandmas. But I do have stories and pictures archived here that can always take us back down memory lane. And I'm ok with that.

Then I started using this spot as a place to journal what God was teaching me. I needed to memorize more Bible verses so that they could come to mind and help me in my parenting and mothering and wifering. I'll quite often read something during my devotional time that is nourishing to me and I think about how good it is for exactly 2.5 seconds and then Isaiah wakes up and I'm off and running. Without this place to write it down, it would never get a second look, never get a chance to take root inside me and help me grow. And I'm grateful for that.

I'm also grateful for you. I appreciate each and every one of your comments. They are like hand written letters found in the mail. Each are cherished and read a couple times. I have enjoyed meeting people from far away that I never would have met. I love checking out other reader's blogs and learning from them. This blog wouldn't be what it is without you. It takes two.

And so, in honor of Housewifery's 1st birthday and to thank all of my readers, I would like to give away a game called 'Take Two'. It is a spin-off game of Scrabble where players each get a certain number of tiles and try to form connecting words. Once someone has used up all of their tiles they yell out 'take two' and everyone has to grab two more tiles and add them to their words.

The winner will receive one zippered and lined bag with tile pieces and game instructions. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment telling me what your favorite game is.
That's it.
One winner will be selected randomly on Sunday, November 22nd.
Check back to see if you've won!

I can't believe you have been doing this for a year! That is impressive. One of my favorite games is Take Four. It sounds a lot like your Take Two. I also like the game Pictionary. Thanks to you there are many variations to that game. Next time we play we should do it with people as the medium for making a picture. Do you think it would work?

Happy Anniversary!

I like Pictionary, too, as long as I can have Jess for my partner. ;)

One of my favorites is Nertz, but if I want to play something where my blood pressure remains normal, I like Trivial Pursuit.

That's hard...depends on my mood! My husband and I like to play boggle together.

I'm a friend of Ann Harms who told me about your blog! Enjoy your recipes and posts! Thanks for doing it!
