Happy Birthday Addie & Tony!

Happy Birthday Addie & Tony!

Addie! You are 5!

God has made you beautiful-
I love your smile, your dimple, your belly laugh, your almond-shaped eyes.
God has put you with us and us with you-
I'm so glad God gave us a girl! You are a good big sister to Isaiah. He loves to do whatever you do.
God has given you generosity-
You willingly share your candy, money, food, gifts with your brothers. That is a good quality to have for when you become a mommy someday.

I can't wait to see how God shapes you into a young woman. Thank you for teaching me about girly things. I love being your mom. You teach me many lessons in patience and your little eyes on me make me run to God and seek His help to be a good example to you in how to be a godly wife and mother. I praise God that He is sovereign and powerful and can turn my mistakes into good. I love you Addie!

Happy Birthday Tony! You are 37! hahahahaha..maybe I won't do yours quite like the kids :)

I'm grateful to have you as my husband. You are considerate and unselfish. You put me above your own interests. You love God's word and take your role as husband, father, church elder, as a seriously call. Thank you for providing for us and loving us. The boys would do well to follow your lead. And Addie would be pleased to find a man like her daddy. May God continue to guide you and give you wisdom as you lead our family. I love you Tony!

Happy Birthday Sai-Sai!

Isaiah you are 2 today!

2 years ago today, God was done forming you inside of me and He ushered you into our lives. You are so special!
I love your chubby little hands and feet.
I love you in your pj's.
I love your mouth full of teeth.
I love your own little language.

God has given you your own interests.
You already love football. You will pick up a ball, turn it to the laces, then throw it with precision and excitement, and yell "touchdown!"

God has given you love.
You love to cuddle and rock and give kisses.
When asked to apologize, you gently rub the arm or shoulder of the person you've offended and say with a quiet voice, "sorry". We didn't teach you that, that's who you are.

God has given you humor.
You love to get a laugh out of your older brother and sister. You'll blink your eyes long and deliberately. You'll throw your head back and let out a loud belly laugh.

I thank God for blessing us with your life. You have taught me so much about God in a way that I could only learn from you and being your mom. And for that, I am truly grateful. May you continue to be true to who God made you to be. And may God grant me wisdom to raise you in a way pleasing to Him for His glory.
I love you sai-sai!

Breathing Life into Your Man

Here is a timeless valentine from wife to husband and husband to wife. I read this from The Gospel Coalition by Ray Ortland. ~Happy Valentine's Day!

"Let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.”
Ephesians 5:33

God made Adam first and put him in the Garden with a job to do, a mission to fulfill. In the heart of every fallen man is the self-doubt that wonders, “Am I man enough to climb this mountain God has called me to? Can I fulfill my destiny?” A wise wife will understand that question at the center of her husband’s heart. And she will spend her life answering it, communicating to him in various ways, “Honey, I believe in your call. I know you can do this, by God’s power. Go for it.” In this way, she will breathe life into her man.

God made Eve from Adam, for Adam, to help him follow the call. In the heart of every fallen woman is the self-doubt that wonders, “Do I please you? Am I what you wanted?” A wise husband will understand that question at the center of his wife’s heart. And he will spend his life answering it, communicating to her in various ways, “Darling, you are the one I need. I cherish you. Let me hold you close.” In this way, he will breathe life into his wife.
