Buddy Check!

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

I would love to hear from you guys. What has God been teaching you? What verse are you wrestling with? What's your favorite verse? Favorite song? Why? Let's teach each other this week by sharing how God is working in you. And together we can give thanks to God for His encouragement through fellow believers.

  1. I'll start. This song has been ministering to me lately. It is 'How He Loves Us' by David Crowder Band. God is teaching me how perfect His love is. Not like mine. I have a hard time accepting His love and grace and forgiveness knowing I don't deserve it and am not worthy to receive it. But how freeing it would be to accept His love how He offers it: unconditional, unashamed, true affection, never-ending, full of forgiveness, acceptance. And how through Christ I am made perfect and forgiven and worthy to be loved by God. O How he loves us!!!!

  2. Oh, I love that song too!

This week I've been mulling over 2 Timothy 3:14,15. I've been familiar with the verses since I was small, but this week I read them in the Amplified version, and they hit me in a new way:

"But as for you, continue to hold to the things that you have learned and of which you are convinced, knowing from whom you learned them, and how from your childhood you have had a knowledge of and been acquainted with the sacred Writings, which are able to instruct you and give you the understanding for salvation which comes through faith in Christ Jesus through the leaning of the entire human personality on God in Christ Jesus in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness."

I love the part explaining about faith being the entire leaning of my personality in complete, abandoned trust in God. My mind links these verses to Proverbs 3:5,6. I've been praying that I will be a living example of this kind of faith, and that my children will see it, want it, and embrace it at a young age like Timothy did.
